Hippos need their beauty sleep too

I walked into my daughter's bedroom this morning to this sight...

What has made you laugh today?

The H Children: Portrait Photographer

A few days ago I did a sneak peek from the H children's photo shoot. I have now completed editing them and wanted to share some more from the session. I absolutely loved working through these pictures. In my line of work, I spend a great deal of time looking at people's eyes, and I am sure will agree, both of their eyes are simply stunning.

High-Key Photography

A large part of what I do is in the editing of images. Afer working on this shoot I thought it would be fun to process a couple in to produce a high-key effect. Like Vegemite, you'll either love it or you'll hate it. Personally, I think they make fabulous artwork for your walls.

The M Family Photo Shoot

Following on from yesterday's Christmas blog, I wanted to share some of the other images we took at the same shoot. These guys have only been in the country a few months and I was lucky enough to meet Mummy M a few weeks after she arrived on Aussie soil. Now, I must warn you, be careful, these images contain a cute warning......twins alert. That is all I am saying.

...don't say I didn't warn you.
To the M Family, thank you for choosing me to document your family at such a gorgeous stage in your lives. Thanks also for being so game and having such a good laugh with the Christmas photos. I am surprised I managed to actually take some shots I was laughing so much!

Christmas Photography Package

I have been running the sessions for the Christmas Packages over the last three weeks. Most clients have had a 'normal' shoot and then we finished off with more seasonal shots. That way, they can have the best of both worlds, fun Christmas shots and natural, family portraits. We might get some funny looks dressed up in Santa hats in October, but that just adds to the fun!

If you want to book in for the Christmas Package, please contact me asap. Sessions need to be completed by 7 November and orders placed by 14 November to ensure mid-December deliveries. The Christmas Package is only $249 and includes:-

  • A one hour photo shoot for babies, children, families or couples on location or at your home

  • Online private gallery to view your images at home and share with family and friends for 28 days

  • 24 Personalised Christmas Cards, 5 x 7 inches, with envelopes (choose one of four designs) High quality, gloss finish.

Cobwebs

A spider's web glistening as the sun sets on another day. Beauty is all around us, we just need to be looking for it.

Growth

Ever look at your own child and wonder how they grew so quickly? I often do this straight after I've loaded images onto my Mac from my CF card. The days and weeks go by so quickly that we barely notice that day by day they grow that little bit more. Then all of a sudden you are looking at a child who says to you "Mum, it won't be long before we can swap clothes". And you know what? She's right, it wont long at all. (Okay so the fact that I am vertically challenged will speed this process up more than most, but it will come to us all). Remember to cherish every day.

The S Family Photo Shoot: Sandhurst Photographer

It was Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte who said "Un bon croquis vaut mieux qu'un long discours," which translates as "A good sketch is better than a long speech". This is more commonly used these days as "A picture is worth a thousand words." Obviously, being a photographer, I truly believe this.

This set of images from my recent photo shoot with the S Family tell you so much about them. It's easy to see just what a special relationship they have together and I cannot tell you just how sweet the girls are together; they actually hold each others hands...without being asked to and the oldest two dote on their little sister. (I am angling for my two to spend some time with them in the hope that some of the sibling love with rub off on them).

To the S Family: I had such a lovely time with you all and you girls are an absolute pleasure to be around. It was great to hear your stories of holidays and family times together and on that note I have a favour to ask....please can you pack me in your suitcase on your next trip to the USA? I promise to behave :-)
